Privacy Policy

Welcome to Freq'n Truth Speaker Tester ("we," "us," "the app"), developed by Qualhalla. We're committed to transparency about data practices in our Android app.

1) What data we collect

We do not maintain user accounts or collect personal information on our own servers. The app uses third-party SDKs that may collect certain data automatically for ads and analytics:

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Approximate location (country/region/city level; not precise GPS)
Identifiers (e.g., Android Advertising ID)
App activity/usage (interactions with ads, engagement/performance signals)
Device information/diagnostics (to measure performance and prevent fraud)

Analytics (Firebase / Google Analytics for Firebase)

Approximate location (city/region derived from IP at collection time; GA4 does not store raw IP)
Identifiers (Firebase app-instance ID; Android Advertising ID if enabled)
App interactions/usage (feature use, screens/events such as measurement captures and settings changes)

In-App Purchases (Google Play Billing)

Purchases are processed entirely by Google Play. We do not receive or store payment details such as credit card numbers. We only receive confirmation of purchase status to unlock premium features.

Data handled by these SDKs is encrypted in transit and processed under Google's policies. We do not combine this data with other datasets to identify you.

2) Microphone access

This app requests microphone permission to analyze audio frequencies in real-time for speaker testing and frequency response measurements. Audio data is processed entirely on your device and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted to any server. The microphone is used solely to analyze audio frequencies and generate frequency response measurements.

3) Local data storage

The app stores the following data locally on your device:

Measurement history (frequency response test results, measurement metadata, custom titles)
Settings and preferences (stereo/mono mode, scale settings, sensitivity options)
Purchase status (whether Pro Mode is unlocked)
Exported files (CSV data files and PNG images saved to your device when you use the export feature)

This local data is not transmitted to us or any third party.

4) How collected data is used

Advertising: to show ads, measure performance, limit fraud/abuse, and—if permitted—personalize ads.
Analytics: to understand which features are used, improve the app, and guide product decisions.

We do not sell your personal data.

5) Your choices

Advertising ID controls: You can reset your Android Advertising ID and opt out of ad personalization in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads).
Microphone permission: You can revoke microphone access at any time in your device settings, though this will disable the frequency measurement features.
Notification permission: On Android 13+, you can control whether the app shows download notifications when you save files. This only affects convenience notifications—files are still saved even if you deny this permission.
Location: We don't request location permission; approximate location for ads/analytics may be inferred by partners from network signals.

6) Data sharing

We share data with Google (AdMob, Firebase, Play Billing) and their advertising/analytics partners to provide ads, measurement, and analytics. We do not share data with other third parties for marketing purposes.

7) Cookies and local storage

Ad SDKs may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver and measure ads. App settings you change are stored locally on your device and are not sent to us.

8) Data retention & international transfers

We do not store personal data on our own servers. Data collected by Google and its partners is retained and processed according to their policies and may be processed on servers outside your country.

9) Children

This app is not directed to children under 13 and contains advertising. Parents/guardians should supervise use by minors.

10) Your rights

Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, delete, or limit processing of your data. Because we don't maintain accounts or store personal data ourselves, requests related to ad/analytics data are generally handled via device controls and Google's mechanisms. You can also contact us and we'll assist where possible.
